Come and Join CRC
We hope that after what you’ve read here, you’d like to come and join Carleton Running Community.
Have you been along for a few trial runs with the group to make sure that this is the right environment for you? Did this group make you feel welcome and included into the sessions? We do hope so!
We have tried to make this joining process as nice and simple for you as possible, but there are a few bits we need to mention first.
Please note: Carleton Running Community accepts members from the age of 16 upwards, however we do have certain criteria to meet in terms of runners under the age of 18. For anyone under 18 years of age, we request that they come to all sessions with a responsible adult who is a family member. In addition to this, all runners under the age of 18 will need to have a positive safeguarding risk assessment conducted on their own personal circumstances as part of the enquiry process. This is to ensure that we are a club are fully equipped to deal with those runners under the age of 18 and is also for their own benefit.
Membership fees
The standard annual membership fee is £30 which runs from April 2025 to March 2026, and includes your individual affiliation to England Athletics which offers extra benefits that aren’t available for non-affiliated running groups.
If you want to join CRC as a Second Claim Member, due to being a member of a different England Athletics affiliated club with who you want to remain as your First Choice, then Second Claim Membership is available for £15 per year, or part year.
If you are a Greene King employee, you can apply to become a GK Staff Member where you will just be required to pay the EA affiliation fee of £20.
If you want to join BEFORE 1st April 2025, the fee is £35 and that runs through to the end of March 2026.
.
What you get for your membership
You get organised sessions throughout the year, arranged and facilitated by the club, delivered by trained and qualified England Athletics Coaches in Running Fitness (CiRF) and Leaders in Running Fitness (LiRF).
There will be some organised sessions that are delivered or led by experienced runners who are working towards their qualifications, but these sessions are planned in advance by the qualified Coaches so that all safety considerations are addressed appropriately.
The annual subscription fees include a fee of £20 (previously was £19) that gets paid to England Athletics for your individual affiliation and membership licence.
Membership fees also cover the club’s administrational running costs, which also include the club affiliation to England Athletics. This validates our public liability insurance, enables discount of certain road running race entries, and gives you comfort that we have the backing and support of our national governing body.
See the England Athletics website for more details of this.
Please note that if any member wants to transfer their membership FROM other clubs, they will need to transfer their registration via the England Athletics portal and this would cost a one-off England Athletics admin fee of £10 to transfer their membership licence.
Please also note that if for whatever reason you wish to leave CRC during your membership year, no refunds are available.
