We are Carleton Running Community. We as CRC are a group of friendly runners who enjoy running with others and enjoying being active with other like-minded people. We are affiliated to England Athletics (Ref: 7693591).
If you want to be active, then we can help. If you want to improve your running, then we can help. If you’re interested in trying out running or run/walking with other people, then we can help. We want to do whatever we can to help enable you to achieve what you want to achieve with your running.
CRC is here to help get Carleton moving!
Already a runner?
We are looking to recruit runners who can run 5k or more and are comfortable running somewhere between 7 min/miles and 14 min/miles – so if you can a 5k between 22mins and up to 45mins then you’ll fit in well!
We are also interested in developing runners if they want to improve too. Part of our ethos is that for those who want to get quicker, we will do what we can to help you. For those who want to just run socially with others and enjoy their current pace, then that’s fine too. We just want runners to be able to run at whatever pace they want and to enjoy hassle-free running.
Not quite up to 5k right now?
Interested in running but not got up to 5k yet? Don’t worry, we have something we can offer you. We will be running regular Couch To 5k sessions to get wannabe runners or people returning to running up to being able to do the distance. It isn’t easy starting from scratch or even being able to run previously but want to rebuild from square one. By having a group of supportive people around you willing you on, helping you by supporting you to stay committed, Carlton Running Community can help you.
Not just about running
One aspect of our running community is that we want to ensure that it isn’t JUST about running. Running is fun, don’t get us wrong, but we also want it to be social and enjoyable too. You can be a competitive runner, a social runner, or someone just starting running but you get so much more out of running when you mix socially with other runners too.
This is why we are in partnership with our hosts, The Carleton, so that we can work together to create a happy blend of exercise and refreshment! After our runs, we will be retiring into the pub for a quick drink – be it a cuppa, a soft drink or something a little stronger, and there will be other times when we decide to meet socially and just have a chat. Friends and family are welcome to these social events too. We believe in making this an inclusive experience and one where we can all get so much out of, especially after the last couple of years living with the pandemic.
